Metro-North has announced some schedule changes for the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines that will go into effect this Sunday, September 29th.
With the launch of its new SMARTTRACK program and strategic shut downs of continuous segments of track between Mott Haven and Woodlawn on the Harlem Line in the Bronx, renovation work was expedited, and is now complete. Crews installed more than 1,400 ties, made drainage improvements, vacuumed debris- covered ties, installed new rail and insulated joints, dumped 80 tons of stone ballast, welded tracks and removed trees.
As a result, customers should see a significant improvement in train frequencies and reliability, and have more travel options; including:
- The restoration of full weekend service to North White Plains, which eliminates the need to originate and terminate trains at Crestwood.
- A new early-morning train from Bridgeport to New Haven.
- New stops added in Greenwich.
- Two new westbound evening express trains from Greenwich to Grand Central Terminal.

Please note that the 2019/2020 Fall/Winter Holiday Programs are unchanged from 2018. Metro-North will publish and operate a special four-day schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
