Rep. Rutigliano Appointed Deputy Leader

TRUMBULL– State Representative David Rutigliano (R-123) has been named a Deputy House Leader by incoming House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora becoming one of two legislators assigned to overseeing day-to-day operations of a successful House Republican caucus.

“Representative Rutigliano has distinguished himself among his colleagues as a respected lawmaker, a meticulous negotiator and energetic leader within the General Assembly,” said House Republican Leader-Elect Vincent Candelora. “He’s a tremendous asset to our caucus, and I am grateful he is willing to serve in this critical role.”

“I’m excited for this additional responsibility and opportunity,” Rutigliano said, who won re-election to a sixth term in November, representing the 123rd Assembly District of Trumbull. “I’m honored and humbled by Leader Candelora’s trust in me. The House Republicans, represent 1.27 million people in 53 districts, and we are prepared to stand up for every single one of our constituents, their families and the entire state of Connecticut in the upcoming session.”

Rep. Rutigliano also continues to serve as the Ranking Member of the legislative General Law Committee. He will also serve on the Executive and Legislative Nominations and the budget-writing Appropriations Committees.

The 2023 legislative session is scheduled to convene on January 4, 2023 and adjourn on June 7, 2023.
