State Representative Amy Romano was elected to her first term during a special election in April of 2025. A native of Connecticut, Amy Romano has been a longtime Shelton resident for over 20 years where she and her husband Mark have raised three sons. With a degree in Interior Design from Paier College of Art, Amy has spent the last two decades in the real estate, business development and construction industries. She has managed multi-million-dollar project budgets including the oversight of public financing.

For the last six years Amy has served on the Shelton Public Schools Board of Education and an active member of the Republican Town Committee. She is currently the Board Chairman on the Board of Education. Amy is a steadfast advocate for educational excellence and responsible governance. Throughout her tenure, she has played a critical role in financial oversight, special education, and ensuring fiscal responsibility while prioritizing student success.

Amy is also passionate about shaping effective policies, has worked to enhance curriculum development, strengthen special education programs, and foster high-quality educational opportunities for all students. Her leadership skills and commitment to bipartisanship have been instrumental in building consensus among stakeholders, driving meaningful improvements in the district.

If elected as State Representative for the Shelton 113th district, she will continue her efforts to improve, evolve and reform government policy to benefit the community and the district.
