Schools of Distinction Recognized

Key Takeaways

  • 4 schools in the 66th District names Schools of Distinction

The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) has released the results from the 2024–25 Next Generation Accountability System, which offers a comprehensive view of school and district performance across several indicators. According to the CDSE, the system looks beyond test scores and graduation rates to reflect the many ways schools support student learning and well-being.  Results show that Connecticut students improved on most indicators, including academic achievement, chronic absenteeism, ninth-grade students being on pace to graduate on time, postsecondary readiness, four- and six-year graduation rates, physical fitness, and arts participation.

A number of schools across Connecticut demonstrated high performance, including four in the 66th District. Congratulations to the students, parents and staff at Bethlehem Elementary School, Goshen Center School, Litchfield Center School, and Warren School. These schools were recognized as Schools of Distinction by the CDSE for excelling academically, closing achievement gaps, and creating supportive environments where students can thrive. Wishing you all much continued success on your journeys in education!
