Rep. Reddington Hughes Joins Republican Colleagues to Honor Local Veterans

On Friday, State Representative Karen Reddington-Hughes joined colleagues to honor and thank members of our armed forces for their military service during a Veteran’s Wartime Service Medal Ceremony held in New Milford.

Established in 2005 by former Governor Rell, the medal serves as a way to honor Connecticut's veterans who have served our country from WWII up until now. The medal mirrors the colors found on our state flag on one side, with the shield from the four main branches of the Armed Forces on the other.

"These events are an important reminder of the sacrifices made by so many in order to protect the freedoms we enjoy today and it was a honor to acknowledge their service to this country," Rep. Reddington-Hughes said.
