The Connecticut Department of Agriculture (DoAg) has announced 43 farms across the state have been awarded a Farm Transition Grant. Among them is Horticulture Therapy Farm LLC in Litchfield.

Funds provided through the Farm Transition Grant are to support the diversification of existing farm operations, transitioning to value-added agricultural production and sales, and other venues in which a majority of products sold are grown in the state.

Horticulture Therapy Farm will create a drying system/storage racks, huller machine, and nut cracker for increased walnut production; packaging supplies and maple equipment for increased maple syrup production as part of their grant.
