HARTFORD – State Representative Rosa Rebimbas (R-70th) was recently recognized for her outstanding record in support of Connecticut businesses.

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA), which represents thousands of large and small employers, gave Rebimbas a 100% on its annual State House Voting Record Scorecard.

Votes were scored on 10 bills, chosen for their potential impact—positive or negative—on job growth and the state’s post-pandemic recovery. They ranged from developing a women’s return to work plan in the post-COVID world, to a program in state prisons that will allow those re-entering society the chance to earn their commercial driver’s licenses.

“Residents continue to deal with inflation-driven price increases for everyday products and sky-high gas prices that strain their budgets. Businesses are dealing with many of the same issues, including our manufacturers and local companies in Naugatuck and elsewhere in Connecticut,” Rep. Rebimbas said. “As these companies recover from the pandemic, collectively as lawmakers we should find innovative ways to assist them, not find new ways to tax and regulate them. During my time in the legislature, I have stood up for Connecticut businesses and I thank the CBIA for recognizing me for that record.”

CBIA vice president of public policy Eric Gjede said the scorecard demonstrates a lawmaker’s level of awareness around critical issues impacting the economy and job creation.

“We are seeing a growing number of bipartisan, moderate lawmakers recognize that the high cost of living and the labor shortage are major threats to our economic recovery,” Gjede said. “Our 2022 voting scorecards show which lawmakers were willing to stand with the business community to prioritize these issues.”
