NAUGATUCK – State Representative Rosa C. Rebimbas (R-70), and State Senators Joan Hartley (D-15) and George Logan (R-17) hosted a Town Hall Meeting at Naugatuck Town Hall on Thursday, June 27th. The members held the event to facilitate discussion among local residents following the end of the 2019 legislative session. This year, major issues included the two-year state budget, minimum wage, paid family and medical leave, criminal justice, transportation (tolls), and the opioid epidemic, to name a few.
“I was happy with the turnout and appreciate the questions that were asked,” Rep. Rebimbas said. “I know many are concerned about the likelihood of tolls and what that means for our community. Many are concerned about the rising cost of living and doing business in Connecticut as well as the impact our state’s policies have on businesses and employment. I want my constituents to know that we are continuing to push back against these misguided policies and realize that the number of residents and companies leaving our state is a red flag that cannot be ignored. I thank Senators Harley and Logan for cohosting this event and our constituents who were able to attend.”
