Connecticut Offering Two New Competitive Grants for Municipalities

The Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development recently announced the creation of two new competitive grants intended to give a boost to the state’s towns and cities.

Applications are now being accepted for:

  • Innovation Corridor Program: The department expects to award up to $100 million total for two or more projects in major urban areas or regional economic centers. The projects are intended to facilitate the creation of at least 15,000 new jobs in data science, advanced manufacturing, insurance technology, or other high-growth industries. Read more here.
  • CT Communities Challenge Program: The department expects to award up to $100 million, with grants ranging between $1 and $10 million per project, to support transit- and pedestrian-oriented development projects. It is the department’s goal to allocate up to 50% of the funds to projects in distressed municipalities. Read more here.
