Sen. Hartley, Waterbury Delegation Welcomes $10 Million for Waterbury’s Freight Street Corridor Redevelopment

Today, state Senator Joan Hartley (D-Waterbury, Naugatuck, and Middlebury) and the Waterbury delegation welcomed the Community Investment Fund 2030 board’s approval of $10 million toward the City of Waterbury’s Freight Street Corridor Redevelopment Project. The funding would be utilized for finalizing demolition and remediation activities at three separate parcels – together around 20 acres

I wanted to make you aware of new laws affecting Connecticut taxpayers and businesses taking effect on Saturday, October 1st. This year, several important public safety measures become law, including many that were a result of pressure from both the public and Republican lawmakers concerned about an increase in crime, especially juvenile crime, and the dramatic rise in incidents of car theft; from 2019-2020 the increase in motor vehicle theft was just less than 4 times the national average – 41%

The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) announced Veterans STAND DOWN 2022 will take place on September 23rd from 8:00 – 2:00 p.m. at five regional sites across the state.

While the COVID-19 pandemic changed the way agencies and organizations operate, the DVA continues its commitment to serving Connecticut’s Veterans by providing access to a range of programs and services offered by state and federal agencies, Veterans organizations, and community-based non-profits.
