Posted on May 30, 2025

Governor Ned Lamont has announced $30 million in state grants through the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) for 46 small towns across Connecticut! These funds will support a variety of infrastructure improvements — including road safety upgrades, emergency management improvements, pedestrian enhancements, and recreational facility upgrades.

Highlights for the 76th District:
• Litchfield will receive $500,000 in state funding for the reconstruction of Wigwam Road, matched by $873,190 from the town.
• Burlington will receive $255,664 in state funding for the Town Hall Emergency Standby/Station 1 EMS Command Center, matched by $63,916 from the town.
These investments will strengthen critical infrastructure and improve safety for our communities.
