Metal Beam Guide Rail Upgrade Project in Litchfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that a guide rail upgrade project will be performed on Route 63 in Litchfield.

The project consists of upgrading existing wood pole guide rail systems to current standard systems on route 63 at various intersections between route 4 and route 202. The upgrades are scheduled to begin about Monday, November 16, 2020, and continue through December 16, 2020. No work performed on the day before or the day after the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Motorists can expect lane closures on Routes 63. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
