GOSHEN – The League of Women Voters Litchfield County hosted its annual Legislative Breakfast on Saturday, featuring a legislative panel to provide insight on the current legislative session. State Rep. John Piscopo (R-Thomaston) participated in the breakfast, providing commentary on some of the major topics that are being debated under the State Capitol’s golden dome.

“Our state has a very complicated process of securing energy. However, we are looking at ways to lower monthly utility costs and ensure we are fulfilling the core services of state government by providing services geared to the state’s most vulnerable populations,” said Piscopo.

Energy prices have skyrocketed for Connecticut’s families and businesses. Piscopo has supported a six-point plan to help lower the cost.

As a member of the Finance Committee, he will also examine ways to lessen the tax burden – such as reinstating a tax exemption for children’s clothing (applying to those 10 years-old and under).
