The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) has issued a press release regarding bridge replacement of Route 202 over the Bantam River in Litchfield. Please read for information and lane closures as this may impact your travel plans:


Replacement of Bridge  00908, Route 202 over Bantam River in Litchfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction activity for the replacement of Bridge 00908, Route 202 over Bantam River in Litchfield, will begin on August 29, 2018.

The project involves the full replacement of the structure. The project will install new drainage, guiderail, and landscaping as  well.

DOT Project No. 0073-0177 was awarded to The Brunalli Construction Company of Southington, CT at a cost of $3,707,957.70 on July 18th, 2018, and is scheduled to be completed June 14th, 2021.

LANE CLOSURE INFO
Route 202: Alternate one-way traffic operations, not to exceed 300 feet of length on a travel path not less than 11 feet. A temporary Traffic Signal will be installed to direct traffic during alternating one-way operations.

The contractor is permitted to halt vehicular traffic for a period not to exceed 15 minutes to perform necessary work.

During roadway construction the contractor will be allowed, only when necessary, to maintain traffic on processed aggregate for duration not to exceed 10 calendar days.
