Connecticut’s 2020 Sales Tax Free Week: August 16-22

The state’s annual Sales Tax Free Week this year begins Sunday, August 16, 2020 and runs through Saturday, August 22, 2020. During this one-week sales tax holiday, retail purchases of most clothing and footwear items priced under $100 are exempt from Connecticut sales and use tax. This exemption applies to each eligible item under $100, regardless of how many of those items are sold to a customer on the same invoice.

Highlights:
This year will be Connecticut’s 20th Sales Tax Free Week. Despite the governor’s proposal to eliminate this long-standing tax holiday, it will bring much-needed financial relief to residents across the state.

Per state statute, Sales Tax Free Week begins on the third Sunday of August and runs until the following Saturday.
