Rep. Petit Recognized by LeadingAge Connecticut as Legislator of the Year

LeadingAge Connecticut has named State Representative William Petit Jr., (R-22) as its 2019 Legislator of the Year, and presented the legislator with an award during their 2019 Annual Meeting and Award Ceremony held on October 15th 2019 at the Aqua Turf in Southington.

“As ranking member of the Public Health Committee, I am honored to receive this award and humbled to be recognized for my efforts to advocate for some of our most vulnerable citizens in the state of Connecticut,” said Rep. Petit. “LeadingAge Connecticut is a terrific organization and it’s great to be recognized by them.”

Petit was among five legislators statewide who received “legislator of the year” honors for their contribution to developing and supporting public policies that are beneficial to LeadingAge Connecticut members and the older adults they serve.

LeadingAge Connecticut is a membership organization representing more than 130 not-for-profit provider organizations serving older adults and disabled individuals across the continuum of services and housing.
