HARTFORD – For the second straight year, State Representative William A. Petit Jr. (R-22) has achieved a perfect score for votes taken on the floor of the House of Representatives during the 2019 legislative session.
Each year, the House Clerk’s Office releases the data on members’ votes during the Regular Session and Representative Petit was present for all 392 votes taken during that time. Achieving perfect attendance is quite difficult, with on average only 20 to 30 percent of legislators able to do so in a given year.
“While this session featured many controversial topics, my attendance, attention and participation on behalf of the people of the 22nd District is extremely important and is something I take great pride in,” Rep. Petit said. I am thankful for the opportunity to represent them and vote on behalf of items that are best not only for our district, but for our entire state.”
Rep. Petit represents the towns of Plainville and New Britain in the General Assembly and serves as the Ranking Member of the legislature’s Public Safety Committee and also a member of the Appropriations and Energy Committees.
The next regular session will convene on Wednesday, February 5th.
