Plainville Representative William A. Petit, Jr. (left, holding his son, William III), and Senator Henri Martin (right) again participated in the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign by ringing bells at Gnazzo’s in Plainville  on Friday December 14 alongside Lt. Emmanuel Echavarria (second from right), of The Salvation Army.

The state lawmakers collected donations from the generous Plainville community to help neighbors in need this holiday season.

“The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign is an integral part of their year-long efforts to raise funds that will provide necessary resources for our neighbors in need,” said Rep. Petit of his second year partnering with The Salvation Army and Gnazzo’s. “I appreciate those who stopped by to give generously to this very worthy cause.”

“You know it’s the Holiday season when you hear us ringing the bell with the Salvation Army,” said Sen. Martin. “Giving to those in need is always important regardless what time of year it is. But during the giving season, it’s important to give what you can so that those less fortunate can afford those necessary resources to stay above water. I greatly appreciate everyone who stopped by and gave donations to this great organization.”

Services provided by the Salvation Army include food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.
