Rep. Pavalock-D’Amato Receives Favorable Score from CBIA

HARTFORD – The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) has released their ‘2021 State House Voting Records’ annual report and State Representative Cara Pavalock-D’Amato (R-77) has once again received a favorable score for her continued support of pro-business policies.

While Rep. Pavalock received an overall score of 88%, her opposition to SB-920, An Act Concerning Public-Private Partnerships (PPP’s) prevented her from receiving a perfect score from the association.

“While I am pleased CBIA have recognized my support for our business community, I am disappointed my opposition to SB-920, was held against me,” Rep. Pavalock said. “I am, and always have been a proponent of public-private partnerships, but could not support a bill that seeks to achieve this through more government regulation.”

CBIA annually rates lawmakers based on their votes in committee or the House floor on a series of ‘key bills’ determined by the association on Connecticut’s economic competitiveness and business climate. Votes that support the business community’s position reflect positively, while votes against result in a lowered score.

This session, the bills included the truck tax, extending the manufacturing apprenticeship tax credit, issues with workers’ compensation, and incentivizing the adoption of cybersecurity standards to name a few.
