HARTFORD –State Representative Cara Pavalock-D’Amato (R-Bristol) paid a visit last week to Edgewood Elementary School in Bristol to participate in Read Across America Day.

In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Rep. Pavalock-D’Amato joined in the nationwide celebration by reading to the fourth grade students of Mrs. Schulitz’s class.

“I always look forward to Read Across America Day and spending the time reading to students in Bristol,” said Rep. Pavalock-D’Amato.  “This fun-filled annual celebration provides the opportunity to encourage and motivate children to read, which is such an important part of their learning. I’m proud to again support this great event!”

Pavalock-D’Amato also spent time reading to students at Mountain View and Stafford Elementary Schools in Bristol.

According to their website, The National Education Association seeks to build a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA’s Read Across America. Now in its 21st year, this year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources.
