Reminder: Masks for Heroes, Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven

Dear Friends,
This is just a friendly reminder about an important initiative that has been organized by the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven – Masks for Heroes.
This is a statewide, grassroots partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven to raise awareness and money to buy emergency certified equipment, specifically Level-1, FDA-approved masks, for hospital workers, first responders, and other frontline emergency workers to combat the COVID-19 virus.
100 percent of all donations go directly to protect medical staff, care-givers, and first responders throughout Connecticut. Approximately 500,000 masks have already been distributed throughout the state, but hundreds of thousands more will be needed.
If you would like to donate, you can make your tax-deductible online gift or check payable to the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, and mail to 360 Amity Road, Woodbridge, CT 06525, Attention: Mask for Heroes.
To those who have already donated, thank you. There is a real shortage of personal protective equipment, but programs like this are working hard to provide masks to those who need them the most.
Thank you all for your generosity and support.
Warrior Helpers
We also have a great organization in our community, Warrior Helpers, who are collecting fabric and creating homemade masks for those on the front lines. Please check out their Facebook page. We are fortunate to have great people in our towns who are ready to roll up their sleeves and help those in need.

CDC Advisory on Cloth Face Coverings in Public
The CDC is now recommending cloth face coverings if you go out in public. While social distancing remains our best defense against COVID-19, it may be necessary to leave your homes for essential errands. Here are some useful CDC guidelines about homemade face masks.
Please continue to stay safe during this crisis and continue to check in with family, friends, and neighbors.
Best,
