HARTFORD – Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, was sworn in Wednesday as the representative for the 53rd District in the House of Representatives during a ceremony at the state Capitol. Rep. Nuccio, who enters her third term in office, took the oath of office during the opening day of the 2025 Legislative Session.

Rep. Nuccio will again return as the leading voice for House Republicans in critical budget talks for the upcoming session, as House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora has appointed her to serve as Ranking Member of the Appropriations Committee, which has cognizance of all matters related to the state’s budget.

“Representing Tolland, Vernon and Willington is one of the greatest honors of my life, and I take this responsibility as seriously today as I did when I first stepped into this role,” said Rep. Nuccio. “Our district deserves a leader who will fight for our priorities, including fiscal responsibility of taxpayer dollars, funding for our local schools to achieve academic excellence and increasing public safety. I am committed to doing exactly that and am looking forward to getting to work.”

Additionally, Rep. Nuccio will serve on the Insurance Committee, Executive & Legislative Nominations Committee and the newly formed Select Committee on Special Education.
