HARTFORD – Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, was an invited panelist for the Connecticut Business & Industry Association’s Economic Summit Outlook, joining Sen. Ryan Fazio, Rep. Cathy Osteen, and Rep. Eleni Kavros DeGraw for a discussion with the business leaders of our state.

As part of that discussion, Rep. Nuccio stressed the need to bring more students into the trades, which provide good-paying jobs that are so incredibly necessary for our economy.

She also highlighted the fact that many of our experienced tradesmen are aging, and we need the next generation to learn from them through apprenticeships so they can pick up those skills. And that also means finding ways to increase the number of students who enroll in technical schools, because blue-collar jobs are just as important as white-collar jobs, she said.
