HARTFORD – State Representative Ben McGorty, the co-chair of the legislature’s Fire and EMS caucus, gathered with fellow lawmakers on Monday to receive an update from the Department of Administrative Services about Regional Fire Schools.
Rep. McGorty and other Valley lawmakers are specifically concerned about the Valley Regional Fire School and it being delayed for over a decade.
The newly-appointed Department of Administrative Services Commissioner Joe Geballe provided the update about the Regional Fire Training schools but didn’t go into detail about future bonding money for the schools, but was positive about moving forward with continuing school construction for the Valley Regional Fire School.
Rep. McGorty said, “I am optimistic that Governor Ned Lamont and his administration are taking proactive steps to get shovels in the ground to build the Valley Regional Fire School. Valley lawmakers will not stop fighting to get this project going.”
