SOUTHINGTON- State Representatives Gale Mastrofrancesco, John Fusco and State Senator Rob Sampson, recently held a successful and informative town hall meeting at the John Weichsel Municipal Complex Council Chambers in Southington.
More than three dozen concerned residents turned out to listen and ask questions of the legislators in advance of the 2020 legislation session that convened on Wednesday, February 5th.
The 1.5 hour long discussion focused primarily on tolls, proposed tolls on trucks only, transportation funding, the Special transportation Fund and related diversions and sweeps. The lawmakers also discussed state taxation, the repeated budget deficits and statewide taxation. Most of the time was devoted to answering direct questions from residents, and most of those questions related to transportation infrastructure.
