WOLCOTT, CT – Rep. Gale Mastrofrancesco, R-Wolcott, recently served as a guest reader for Read Across America month at Frisbie Elementary School.

Rep. Mastrofrancesco visited the school where she had a great time reading “The Energy Bus for Kids,” by Jon Gordon to Mrs. Sullivan’s second-grade class. The story was about staying positive and overcoming challenges even on bad days.

“This was another great opportunity to promote literacy and reading in our schools,” Rep. Mastrofrancesco said. “It was a joy to spend time with the students and I look forward to returning next year!”

The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading. Dr. Seuss’ birthday was March 2 and was declared Read Across America Day, which kicks off Read Across America Week and Read Across America Month.
