Governor’s Executive Order 05/12/2020

Governor’s Executive Order 03/24/2020

  • The order extends the official school closure date to 04/20/20, state-wide. The order also makes conforming changes to limit in-person business interactions at the local level. The order also opens the state’s fishing season early by allowing anglers to fish out of Connecticut waters immediately.

Governor’s Executive Order 03/23/2020

  • All public schools will remain closed until at least April 20, 2020
  • Suspension of non-critical probate court operations and associated requirements
  • Suspension of non-critical Workers’ Compensation Commission operations and associated requirements
  • Authorization of remote notarization
  • Suspension or modification of regulatory requirements to protect public health and safety and certain requirements regarding the temporary hire of care workers at long-term care facilities

Governor’s Executive Order 03/22/2020 

  • The Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) released guidance for businesses on how to implement the executive order Governor Lamont issued Friday directing all non-essential business functions in Connecticut to suspend in-person operations beginning Monday, March 23, at 8:00 p.m.

Governor’s Executive Order 03/21/2020

  • Modifies policies within the Departments of Social Services (DSS), Children and Families (DCF), and Consumer Protection (DCP), modifies the Student Data Privacy Act, removes requirements for companies to hold shareholder meetings in-person and provides procedural relief for municipalities, among other things.

Governor’s Executive Order 03/20/2020

  • Declares policies to close all “non-essential” businesses from March 23 through April 22, 2020.

Governor’s Executive Order 03/19/2020

  • Takes several emergency actions in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the governor’s civil preparedness and public health declarations including the temporary closure of barbershops, hair salons, tattoo or piercing parlors, and related businesses effective at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020. The postponement of Connecticut’s presidential primary from April 28 to June 2, 2020. And clearance for restaurants, bars, and private clubs to sell alcohol to be consumed off-premise under certain conditions.

Governor’s Executive Order 03/18/2020

  • Takes several emergency actions in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the governor’s civil preparedness and public health declarations. Closes large in-door shopping malls and amusement parks. Expands Medicaid telehealth. Waives certain in-person health screening requirements for patients at facilities that have issued orders limiting public visitation.

Governor’s Executive Order 03/17/2020

  • Takes several emergency actions in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the governor’s civil preparedness and public health declarations. Makes modifications to the governor’s previously enacted waiver of the 180-day school year. Suspends the requirement that public assistance benefit overpayments be immediately recouped. Suspends a state law regarding fingerprinting at police departments.

Governor’s Executive Order 03/13/2020

  • Grants the commissioner of the Department of Public Health the authority to restrict visitation at nursing homes and similar facilities in response to the civic preparedness and public health emergencies declared due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Governor’s Executive Order 03/12/2020

  • Takes several emergency actions in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the governor’s civil preparedness and public health declarations, including limiting the size of gatherings to 250 people, waiving the 180-day school year requirement, clarifying nursing home visitation restrictions, authorizing DMV to extend renewal deadlines, and relaxing attendance rules for police academy trainees.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), here are some helpful health tips to limit the spread of coronavirus and protect yourself:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then through the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
