Connecticut’s Kid Governor visits State Capitol

Connecticut’s sixth Kid Governor, Reese Naughton, visited the Capitol building on Monday, June 7, 2021, and received full honors with an introduction on the House Floor by Speaker of the House Matt Ritter, State Representative John Fusco, and the Southington Delegation.

During her time in Hartford, Kid Governor Naughton was able to take in the sights and artifacts with a private walk-through of our historic Capitol, and also received a one-on-one visit with Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz.

The Connecticut General Assembly (CGA) Conservative Caucus blasted Democrats for voting to automatically erase hate crimes from the records of convicted felons, weakening the Judicial system and making Connecticut less safe with passage of their “Clean Slate” legislation.

“Democrats have a very one-sided, progressive agenda that runs roughshod over the regular people of our state who need and deserve balanced, reasonable legislation that they are not currently getting,” Rep. Kimberly Fiorello said.

With this legislative session coming to an end on June 9th, it appears that legislative leaders will continue to keep the Capitol closed to the public, despite the statewide lifting of business restrictions, and the governor ordering state government staff back to their offices.
