Rep. Marra, Volunteers "Filling in the Blanks" for the Holidays

During their recent packing event, in less than two hours nearly two dozen people packed more than 400 bags with food and snacks, warm gloves, a special surprise gift, and gift cards donated by the Norwalk Chick-Fil-A!
According to the organization, Filling in the Blanks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2013 by mothers and community activists, Shawnee Knight and Tina Kramer, as a way to marry their loves of community, children, food and charity. They currently serve more than 200 sites around Fairfield, Westchester, and Putnam Counties and have delivered more than four million meals to children in low-income households. Ninety nine percent of their food is purchased with money raised through grants, donations, and fundraisers. Currently, Filling in the Blanks serves more than 10,000 children.
