On Wednesday, State Rep. Tracy Marra joined Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, Fran Pastore, CEO of the Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC), Rep. Dathan, and state and local officials in Norwalk for a small business walking tour to highlight WBDC success stories and promote their programs.
First, the group met with Beth Iovinelli, BSN, RN, IBCLC, at Milk Street Lactation Support Center, who gave a tour and discussed how she created her business assisting women and new mothers with prenatal education, and postpartum and lactation support. Next, they went across the city to visit students at Watch Me Grow Daycare where they met with owners Nichelle and Alex Waddell, teachers, and more than a dozen children at the facility. The center currently has capacity for 24 children, and the Waddells said they have plans to expand greatly in the coming months and years as more space becomes available within the building and their business continues to thrive.
