Earlier today, the legislature voted to reconfirm Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) Chair Marissa Gillett.
While I find her to be both personable and knowledgeable, the process surrounding her nomination has not been transparent and it creates a number of concerns among many of my colleagues, concerns that were aired in several committees and again today during the House debate. Unfortunately, the lack of answers and details, and the behind-the-scenes discussions, have tainted this vote.
PURA’s affects on Connecticut’s energy market is too important to leave so many questions unanswered.
I voted no.
