Arts Endowment Fund Grants Awarded Locally!

The Connecticut Office of the Arts recently awarded Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund (CAEF) grants totaling $864,233 to 165 organizations across the state.

CAEF grants provide general operating support that organizations may use toward program­ming, administrative or operational costs, capital projects, equipment, or to build their own endowments.

Locally, these incredible grants have been awarded to Norwalk’s Center for Contemporary Printmaking ($2,673), Creative Connections ($2,361), East Coast

“Fair Share” legislation moves out of Housing Committee

Last week, the legislature’s Housing Committee passed House Bill 6633 – An Act Concerning a Needs Assessment and Fair Share Plans for Municipalities to Increase Affordable Housing out of committee.

If signed into law by the governor, HB 6633 will be used in “determining the need for affordable housing units in each planning region; and fairly allocating need to the municipalities in each planning region considering the duty of the state and municipalities to affirmatively further fair housing” by
