On Wednesday, I joined our friends and neighbors at Griswold High School in remembrance of the 23rd Anniversary of September 11th. Another year goes by since that awful day, and we still come together to mourn the tragic loss of life that changed our lives so quickly. To this day, so many of our first responders continue to feel the long-term impacts of their heroism on that day. We will never forget the lives that were lost that day and those whose lives were changed forever.
A huge thank you to the Jewett City Fire Department, for holding a most beautiful ceremony at sunset. I am so proud as Griswold’s state representative to see all the residents that came out together as a community to honor the victims. I was particularly touched to see so many members of Griswold Middle School’s seventh grade class (who are now high school seniors) that were responsible for this absolutely breathtaking memorial, to ensure in Griswold, we never forget.
