I was devastated to learn about the untimely passing of our colleague in Hartford, State Representative Ezequiel Santiago of Bridgeport. As Chairman of the Banking Committee, he conducted himself with class and fairness, and served as a positive role model for first-year members such as myself. My deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and the people of his district. He was a true statesman, and his presence will be greatly missed in the General Assembly.
