I am thrilled to share that my bill requiring background checks for all prospective youth camp employees has cleared yet another hurdle and has been approved by the Appropriations Committee. It will be placed on the House calendar. Now, it is up to Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz to call it for a vote.

This bill is a no-brainer. When it comes to the protection of our kids from child predators and violent felons we must take every precaution. I thank the committee for is…suing a joint favorable report, especially Senator Heather Somers and Ranking Member Gail Lavielle, State Representative.

Additionally, I would like to thank Senate Chair Cathy Osten and Ranking Member State Senator Paul Formica for their showing of bipartisan support for this proposal. I look forward to speaking in support of this bill on the House floor.
