On Wednesday, Rep. Anne Dauphinais, Plainfield First Selectman Cathy Tendrich, and I had the opportunity to visit Westminster Tool, Inc. Joining us were students from Shepard Hill and Moosup Elementary Schools who helped us construct towers made out of toothpicks and marshmallows. Shout-out to my partner Chaz for his impressive engineering skills!
Westminster employs 41 Connecticut residents from
sixteen different towns. Some come from technical backgrounds such as manufacturing, electrical, and drafting, while others receive on-the-job training. This company is a role model for the 45th District. The owners have invested in the community by growing their business and creating well-paying jobs. I will continue to advocate for companies like Westminster so they may continue to thrive in Eastern Connecticut!
