During Wednesday’s House Session, I spoke in strong opposition of H.B. 7259, a bill that emboldens the Trust Act and poses significant risks to public safety.
Here’s a summary of its implications:
- It restricts police and state’s attorneys’ cooperation with ICE in numerous situations, even when illegal aliens are apprehended for criminal activities.
- It extends limitations within our judicial system, allowing illegal aliens to file lawsuits if they believe their rights have been infringed.
- It prioritizes these cases over those involving law-abiding citizens.
As this legislative session moves along, I am growing increasingly concerned with our public safety here in Connecticut.
