Books can open the door to a world full of possibilities, and today, I had the privilege of reading a few of my child favorites to students at Voluntown Elementary and Sterling Community School.
Read Across America is an annual, nationwide effort to promote literacy among our youngest students, and I am proud to support this great initiative. The best thing we can do for the next generation is provide them with a well-rounded education, and that begins with picking up a book.
Thank you to the teachers for inviting me to join your classes, and thank you to the students for listening. They are the future, and it is our job to prepare them for it!
