Saturday evening I was honored to be invited to the official pinning of Jenna Schwery of Voluntown, who received the Gold Award from the Girl Scouts of America. This is the highest rank attainable and only 5% of all Girl Scouts reach it.
To complete this award, a scout must complete a service project that will have a long-lasting effect on the community. Jenna chose to help mark the properties throughout Voluntown where the houses sit far back from the road. This was done to… make it easier and faster for Voluntown first responders to find
and arrive to emergencies.
Jenna is a senior at Groton’s Marine Science Magnet High School and will be attending Roger Williams University in the fall. I was proud to present to Jenna on behalf of Senator Heather Somers and myself a Legislative Citation from the Connecticut General Assembly. Jenna has an amazing and exciting future ahead of her!
