Voluntown Elementary School
On March 3rd, I had a chance to do one of the things that I love to do the most being a legislator – getting out in front of the children of the 45th District!
Happy National Reading Month to all. I want to thank the amazing teachers and faculty at Voluntown Elementary School to have the opportunity to read to the first grade classes at this wonderful school! It was a blast reading “Yurtle the Turtle” to the students and having a very meaningful conversation about what I do, and the legislative process in general with them.
The students were active, engaged, and had such positive energy that it made my day!

Griswold Elementary School
On March 7th, it was off to Griswold Elementary School! I received a very warm and enthusiastic welcome from the students in the second and third grade classes. I had a great time reading to Ms. Sebastian and Mrs. Klewin’s classes. The students were engaged, and we all had a lot of fun during our time together. I want to thank everyone at GES who put this together and made me feel welcome! A special thank you to Kayla Hedman from Griswold Public Schools for doing an amazing job with the pictures she took. I look forward to visiting the children again in the future.
