Remembering 09.11.01

It’s hard to believe it has been 20 years since the day that changed America forever. May we never forget all the heroes, the firefighters, police and EMS that went running into the buildings as others were running out of them. Those heroes who went beyond their duty and laid down their own lives to save thousands of others. May we never forget the countless unsung heroes who were never identified. The unknown man who gave up the last elevator ride to the lobby of the tower so someone who was “younger” could get on in his place and live. Or the two men who carried a man with prosthetic legs down countless flights of stairs to safety.
The men and women on Flight 93 who boarded that Tuesday morning as passengers and an hour later died as national heroes. Those passengers who overpowered the terrorists that hijacked the flight. They knew their fate, however fought back to save thousands more who would have fallen victim had hijackers plans been executed. May we never forget the 2,977 who perished on 9-11. Let us pray for them and their families. We pray as they suffered and died through the plumes of smoke and debris that they quickly experienced the clouds of Heaven.
We will never forget!
