A Legacy of Service: Celebrating Diane Manning of Griswold

On November 16th , I along with some of my Northeast Delegation colleagues, had the opportunity to celebrate Diane Manning, a lifelong resident of Griswold. Diane was featured for her 40 years of excellence at United Services. Over her decades of tireless service to our community, Diane has been a true leader as a voice for behavioral health in our state.

I was proud to announce with Representative Anne Dauphinais, a legislative citation that was introduced by Senator Heather Somers and I, commemorating this impressive milestone.

Over her impressive career at United Services, Diane started as the Director of Planning and Education. At that time, the agency staffed a total of 43 employees. Currently, Diane serves as the President and CEO of United Services which is now home to over 250 employees. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Griswold Pride and the Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies.

Diane was instrumental in expanding the CRISIS Initiative Pilot Program throughout northeastern Connecticut. CRISIS is an important tool offering training and resources to give law enforcement advanced de-escalation tactics for calls related to mental health, overdose, and substance abuse related issues. Diane’s advocacy and work-ethic helped push this legislative priority of ours over the finish line, and I am grateful for her leadership.

I want to thank Diane for all her work here in eastern Connecticut.
