It was an enjoyable day in the 45th District on Wednesday! After a morning Coffee Hour at Just Breakfast & Things in Lisbon, it was off to Plainfield to visit and tour Plainfield Renewable Energy. We had a great informational session followed by a tour of this impressive facility that generates enough energy to power 27,000 homes. Plainfield Renewable Energy began operations in 2013 and is a clean biomass plant that takes in waste wood and uses gasification and advanced emissions system that help make it among the cleanest biomass plants in North America.
Joining me on the tour was State Senator Heather Somers, State Representative Anne Dauphinais, and a man who is constantly out and about in Plainfield, First Selectman Kevin Cunningham.
