HARTFORD—State Rep. Brenda Kupchick (R-132) received her legislative committee assignments and House leadership role from House Republican Leader Themis Klarides for the 2019-2020 legislative term this week.
Kupchick was re-elected to a fifth term on Nov. 6th and in the days afterward she has prepared herself for the start of the legislative session that opens on January 9th.
The legislative proposed bill deadline is January 18th.
Rep. Kupchick will continue as an influential member of the House Republican caucus, having been re-appointed by House Republican Leader Themis Klarides (R-114) as a Republican Whip. This is in addition to her assignment as a Member of the Transportation, Housing and the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding committees.
Kupchick is prepared for her committee challenges —particularly, taking an active role in resuscitating Connecticut’s ailing finances and building on the positive bi-partisan budget reforms accomplished the last two years.
The Transportation Committee has cognizance of all matters relating transportation, including highways and bridges, mass transit and railroads.
Kupchick will be serving on Finance, Revenue, and Bonding, —the powerful tax-writing committee, and will be charged with making sure state taxpayers aren’t unduly burdened with additional taxes and fees.
