Rep. Kokoruda Welcomes Special Olympics Athletes to State Capitol

On April 24, 2019 at the Capitol in Hartford, State Representative Noreen Kokoruda (R-101) met with Special Olympics athletes that competed in the Special Olympics 2019 USA Games hosted by Abu Dhabi, in March.

Rep. Kokoruda joined other legislators, advocates, parents and coaches in sharing words of praise to the men and women that represented Connecticut in the national competition. Chris Piotrowski, Durham resident and Coginchaug High School student attended the Special Olympics 2019 USA Games as a tennis athlete and delivered a speech about his experience to several legislators on the floor of the House of Representatives.

“I would like to say thank you to the athletes, coaches, parents and all individuals involved in making the Connecticut Special Olympics the success that it is,” said Rep. Kokoruda. “I am incredibly proud of all of the athletes who represented Connecticut. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance through all obstacles and challenges is truly admirable.”
