As we continue to navigate the state of Connecticut’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the reopening of our economy, Phase 2 of the reopening plan began on June 17th.

Businesses who are part of the Phase 2 reopening:

·  Amusement parks

·  Hotels / Lodging

·  Restaurants (indoor dining)

·  Museums, zoos, and aquariums

·  Indoor recreation (bowling, movie theaters, etc.)

·  Libraries

·  Outdoor events

·  Personal services (nail salons, tattoo parlors, etc.)

·  Sports and fitness facilities (gyms, fitness centers, pools, etc.)

Businesses in all of the above categories have been asked to self-certify with the state in order to open. Before a business can reopen in accordance with the sector rules established by the State, they must self-certify that they are following strict safety guidelines to keep their employees and customers safe. To see a list of businesses who have completed the process, you can go to this link. Any eligible business that would like to reopen should go to this link to complete the self-certification process.

Currently, the State is scheduled to begin the Phase 3 reopening in mid-July and additional information on this will be coming soon. To learn more about rules for reopening by sector, you can visit this link.

As we continue to address the current COVID-19 pandemic, my colleagues and I have been working to provide you with the most current information. Our office has created a page with information and links to resources and programs you might find useful during and after the coronavirus outbreak. You can read more here.

I wanted to also remind you that the state of Connecticut has a comprehensive COVID-19 website for the most up-to-date information information for individuals and businesses that you can view here as well as a ‘Frequently asked Questions’ document which can be found here.
