Rep. Klarides-Ditria Fights Food Insecurity
Posted on February 26, 2025

State Rep. Nicole Klarides-Ditria today joined colleagues from both sides of the aisle for a press conference highlighting the issue of food insecurity and to advocate for increased awareness across the state.
“In a state like Connecticut, no family should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from, if they will have enough, or if they will have enough money to purchase quality, nutritious food. I have said it many times, and I know I said it during this very event last year; hunger doesn’t discriminate, and it doesn’t care about politics,” she said during the press conference
“High inflation and higher costs on goods and services exacerbate food insecurity and we know, and studies have shown, that hunger is a limiting factor in so many facets of our lives. Hungry children struggle to concentrate in school and their grades can suffer, and many families are forced to balance between paying energy bills and buying food.
“Together, we are committed to creating workable solutions to help lower prices, eliminate food deserts, and provide easier access to the important resources every Connecticut resident deserves.”
