Posted on March 4, 2025

State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R-105) celebrated Read Across America Day by reading A Splash of Red; The Life and Art of Horace Pippin to Mrs. Nardelli’s 3rd grade class at Laurel Ledge Elementary School on Tuesday, March 4th.
Rep. Klarides-Ditria also took time to explain how our state legislature works, her role as a state representative, and how decisions made in Hartford affect Connecticut residents, including the students.
Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually during the week of March 2nd with the goal of sharing the joy of reading and promote early childhood literacy with elementary schoolers. According to its website, The National Education Association seeks to build a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA’s Read Across America.
