State Creates UniteCT Rental Assistance Program

I just wanted you to know that the Connecticut Department of Housing introduced UniteCT – a $235 million federally-funded program to assist residents financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic who are struggling to pay their rent and utility bills.
Landlords and utility companies will be eligible to receive up to $10,000 in rental assistance and up to $1,500 in electric utility payments per approved tenant/customer. The program will provide assistance of up to 80 percent of the HUD Area Median Income (AMI).
The 80% AMI for Beacon Falls, Derby and Seymour is:
- Household of 1: $54,950.00
- Household of 2: $62,800.00
- Household of 3: $70,650.00
- Household of 4: $78,500.00
- Household of 5: $84,800.00
- Household of 6: $91,100.00
- Household of 7: $97,350.00
- Household of 8: $103,650.00
