Reps. Klarides-Ditria, Klarides to Host Another Farmers to Family Event

State Rep. Nicole Klarides-Ditria and House Republican Leader Themis Klarides will be hosting yet another Farmers to Family Food box distribution event to benefit those in need in the greater Naugatuck Valley on Monday, Oct. 19 outside of Griffin Hospital in Derby (the former Birmingham Medical Center building).
The event will take place from 12:00pm to 4:30pm or for as long as the supplies last. At least 1,150 food boxes will be handed out. The address is 210 Chatfield Street in Derby (follow the TEAM Inc. signage).
The U.S. Department of Agriculture F2F food program is being coordinated by TEAM Inc. of Derby, a local non-profit run by CEO/President David Morgan, the Friendly Hands Food Bank of Torrington Director Karen Thomas and Ralph DelBuono of Roma’s Restaurant in Oakville.
“While we have been fortunate enough to host quite a few of these events, sadly the demand is still there,’’ the lawmakers said. “We are grateful that we can continue to serve our community and feed those who really need it as our families and businesses remain affected by COIVD-19.”
The boxes will contain 12 pounds of produce, five pounds of meat and five pounds of dairy, plus a gallon of milk.
The lawmakers will be joined by their greater Naugatuck Valley colleagues and local officials: State Representative Rosa Rebimbas, State Senator George Logan, and Deputy First Selectman Annmarie Drugonis.
